I've installed this package from them just today. have a peek here
Right before the process exits, it deletes this file. No vista no 98 just XP. http://cutlersoftware.com/ubuntusetup/wubi/en-US/faq.htmlI hope someone finds this usefull. To help you understand a little better, when urpmi or rpm runs, it checks for the existence of this hidden file.
But don't assume that I'm not trying to learn how the system works, or that I walked away from this learning nothing, etc. URPMI does not seem to work. Just run the installer, no need to burn a CD. Be careful that you really didn't already have urpmi running on purpose, because killing it in the middle of doing its job can (rarely) cause serious issues. 0 Back to top

After downloading the package, it tells me there's a problem with the signature and it won't install. When trying to rpm -ivU on them, I get the same error: the sig file is bad or missing (could not open file). If you heard about Linux and Ubuntu, if you wanted to try them but you were afraid, this is for you. http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/mandriva-linux/54538-unable-update-mandrake-10-0-a.html I just tried restoring from my system backup as well, and that didn't work, either. no need to make a partition for this to try ,The only draw back is it is only for xp. I don't *have* to use the closest (BTW: IGLUs mirrorhas the same problem). Any mirror on Mandrake's website will have an update directory, just add this directory to KPackages RPM source list, and you're good to go. I checked the sigs, and they're there. Windows doesn't have to be reinstalled half of the time, either, but people that don't know how to fix what's wrong do it, up until they learn how to fix it wanese Guest Re: For Anyone Wishing To Try Linux « Reply #3 on: March 28, 2007, 10:40:28 am » hello there i will love to hear form you cause i would I can't really learn from fixing stuff unless I understand what I'm doing to fix it.
One of my weak areas with this distro is using urpmi. http://globalcryptonews.com/unable-to/unable-to-access-hdlist-file-of.html I haven't had any problems yet with KPackage, and in fact I'm starting to prefer it over Mandrake's native tool.
